Located on the scenic campus of the SNJB's KKHA Arts, SMGL Commerce and SPHJ Science College, Department of Physics started its activity in 2010. Headed by Dr. G. H. Jain, the department today is an active beehive of research being carried out in a wide variety of frontier areas as well as high quality under graduate and post-graduate programs. The research facilities of the Department cover a number of areas like Materials Science, Solid State Physics, gas sensor and equipped with best instrument facilities for UG/ PG students. The department conducts the courses according to savitribai Phule Pune University norms as tests and examinations. It has been recognized that teaching in this department is among the best faculty. The faculty is also very active in research and extension programmes, in reaching out to students and the general public, through popular articles in the local press,, Departmental faculty have done Refresher Courses and orientation programs done from UGC academic staff colleges. The department has received funds from various funding agencies as UGC and BCUD and also faculty members are visited to abroad for presenting their research work at various international conferences. A large number of faculty members and students will get benefit from this program.
