Shri Neminath Jain Brahmacharyashram’s Karmvir Keshavlalji Harakchadji Abad Arts, Shriman Motilalji girdharilalji Lodha Commerce and Shriman P. H. Jain Science College was established in 1970. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and recognized under 2(f) and 12(b). It caters to the educational and socioeconomic needs of the students dwelling in rural area of Chandwad Tehsil. It avails graduation and post-graduation courses in arts, commerce and science. Along with those the college facilitates self-employment based short term courses in tailoring, dress designing, beauty parlour and handicraft courses for girl students and women in the town. The college has been sanctioned DMLT course under the Community College Scheme of the UGC. These have added professional value to the education imparted by the college. In the last few years, the college has brought in academic flexibility by introducing more subjects at graduation and post-graduation level. The NSS unit of the college consists of 250 volunteers and it is distinctive in carrying out Social activities through regular and special camp activities. It has been awarded by SPPU, Pune. The college maintains rapport with government and non-government agencies in the conduct of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Commerce Association, Social Sciences Association, Science Association, Literary Association, Student welfare Association and soft skills. The college has separate gym for boys and girls. Intercollege and intergroup sport tournaments are regularly organized at the college.
I have completed five years of service as the Principal and emphasis on nurturing research culture among the teaching faculty. Almost all the teaching faculty have been sanctioned minor research projects funded by the UGC and BCUD, SPPU, Pune. Dr Tushar chandwadkar is sanctioned a major research project by the UGC. Mr C K Kudnar, Mr Walmik Aware and Vice Principal Dattatraya Shimpi are awarded Ph D. with the generous assistance of Piramal Industries the College has developed infrastructure for research in science. The Best College Award from Savitribai Phule has encouraged us to continue with our endeavours for qualitative development. In this tenure of five years the College hosted Avishkar Research Festival and Intercollege Zonal Level Youth Festival. An MoU with university of Nigeria in the field of nanotechnology is a notable achievement. I along with my departmental colleagues, Dr Sarika Shinde and Dr. Ganesh Patil presented papers in international conferences held in the Europe. Dr. Ganesh Patil represented India in HOPE Scientists’ Meet Nobel Prize Winners in Japan. The college organized a number of state and national level seminars and conferences. All these are commendable achievements.
The Management has entrusted me with the responsibility of the Principal for one more tenure of five years. The college is preparing for the third cycle of NAAC accreditation. I am sure that all the stakeholders will strive to achieve A grade. With the support of the Management and cooperation of the teaching and non-teaching staff and students, I assure all that the second tenure will yield more success and bring glory to the institute.
